Cars For Sale & Wanted / 2@1951 Kaiser Specials
« on: November 19, 2014, 07:06:48 AM »
I am a former member of the KFOCI, member number 9131, and would like to post an ad in both the online and mailed bulletins for the next available 3 months. This morning, I renewed my membership online for the following year while I sell my remaining KF items. I have attached confirmation of my membership renewal. Will you please confirm your receipt of this email and if there may be any additional charges for the size of the posting. I will provide funds as you request. I will list the ad below. Thank you for your assistance.

1951 Kaiser Special, late VIN number with AR title, not running, and would serve as a great parts car or restoration. Originally owned by my late Uncle and KFOCI member, Mr. Marvin Montgomery of Glenwood, WA. Car is in pieces. Good doors, most trim pieces, and rear glass. Original motor and transmission not in car and is not running, but mostly complete. Car holds many memories, but has been neglected for too long. 1951 Kaiser Special. Early VIN number. KS title. Complete body minus trim, motor and trans. This car is a roller with NO rust. I bought it for for parts for the first car listed, but limited time prevents progress. Many extra parts for these cars including door handles, trunk latches and supports, bumper jacks, hubcaps, wide side moldings, radio, extra door glass, and much more. Years of accumulation. Will sell all for 1000.00 OBO. Jerry Kendall, member # 9131. 953 Burk Rd. Highlandville, MO 65669. (Springfield, MO) 417-761-2677. jdkaiser51@yahoo.com.

General Discussion / New member to site

Hello,
New guy here. I'm trying to figure this site out and wondering if I'm posting correctly. I am in southwest MO and have 2 '51 Kaiser 4 door specials. Not much to look at yet, but I've just got started after 19 years of delay. (Wife, kids, job, etc.) My wife and I had our first date in the one car 24 years ago. Pulled the motor out when I was young (stupidly). My wife and I got pregnant with our first boy and I put the car in storage. My son turns 20 in Nov. and is now helping me get back into the act.
Anyways... I digress. Could some of you fine people tell me what the subject, message icon, options, poll options and the rest of this stuff at the top of this page are used for? Am I even on the correct page for beginning a conversation? Computer illiteracy at it's finest here....
I'll check back in tommorrow to see how I've done and to see if an old dog can indeed learn new tricks.
Thanks in advance,

I have found three cars at one location close to home. They are all rough. The first is the only one that I would say is remotely rebuildable. It is also the only one with a title. It is a 52 K 4 door that has a straight body with the usual rust above the rear wheels. The interior is rough and has significant rust in the floor. It has all the glass and most of the chrome. The motor will turn over but has a loud knock when trying to start. It has been sitting outside for years.
The second is a 52 K 2 door without front or rear glass, or hood. It has sat outside for years as well, so the floor boards are completely gone. Rough to say the least, and with no title. There are only a few pieces of trim left that are salvageable. I would say it is junk, but it is a 2 door.....
The third is a 54 K 4 door. The motor and trans are gone, rear center glass and floors are gone, the guy used a grinder to remove surface rust spots on nearly every body panel years ago and then did not paint the bare metal. It has been moved in and out of a barn periodically for years, but here in MO the moisture and humidity can really do some damage in time. There is not a lot of trim in good shape left either.
In all, it's just another case of neglect that is almost a crime to see happen to these cars. My question is, what price range should I be when I offer to buy these cars for parts or whatever in my rebuilding of the two 51 Kaisers that I have now? Thanksfor the help...
