Darrin Forum / Re: emergency brake cables
« on: December 16, 2014, 10:48:40 PM »
I am hoping I am doing this post business correctly to report to anyone interested that my Darrin (car 240) has been receiving substantial care at the hands of two very gifted gentlemen over the last six months. The gas tank has been repaired, as has the brake system. Original emergency cables have been soaked in penetrating oil, and brought back to proper working condition. All new brakes, wheel bearings, races, and seals; rebuilt carb, fuel pump, generator, starter, and many other parts. The only concern now is to replace the cracked windshield in the spring when it gets warm again in northern NY. If everything works out perfectly, I hope to take it to PA for the National meet in July. I thank those who have been so helpful in getting me information. Particular thanks goes to my master mechanics Paul Kron wnd Bill VanDeWeghe, without who's help this would never have been possible. Also thanks to Carl Hering, Chris at Willow Run KF Parts, Terry the Darrin Registry Guru. I don't know how to post photos, so I will have to get help to send to the newsletter editor. Also, If this does post by some miracle, and anyone wants to contact me, my e-mail is glennlseymour@gmail.com. I don't know how to answer this forum to individuals. Thanks

Thanks to you Darrin followers for advice on my gas tank. After much review, my mechanics went ahead and salvaged the old tank. Now I need to find a source for wheel to wheel emergency brake cable, and possibly the hand grip to rear cable. I also need inner axle grease seals and bearings. Anyone who may have ideas, and/or part numbers, or other help please let me know. Thank you in advance. cell #315-212-0961.

Darrin Forum / Darrin parts interchange and wire wheel covers
« on: February 24, 2014, 03:01:33 PM »
I recently joined the KFOCI. After 51 years of watching and waiting for the chance, I was offered an original Darrin #240 from my late friend Raymond LaBar, prior to his passing. Can anyone help with interchange parts numbers and/or reputable suppliers to help me get it back on the road. It was last driven in 1961. I need advice on how to fix loose spokes in the wheel covers. Some have come out. Epoxy? Any help is very much appreciated. Glenn Seymour  glennlseymour@gmail.com
