Modified Kaiser-Frazer & Willys Cars / Re: John Parker Motor
« on: August 19, 2023, 03:11:34 PM »
Who has John Parker's Kaiser now? I think I've seen it at a meet some years ago.
It had the Edmund's 2 carbs, I think, when John had it.

PS. I remember going to John's place in Fullerton and needed a part. He sold me the part and let me use his shop to install it and then he went to lunch with another KF member and said not to sell the place too cheap. Good Times!

Yes I live by there.
I would like to know where that car is. I looked for it years ago but no luck. The VIN FM13657
But I'm also interested how he got that car of his to run like that! I'm working on a 49 Frazer now and would like better performance... A John Parker Hot Rod Motor! LOL

I'm interested in any information on what John Parker did to the motors he rebuilt and more so on what he did to his own kaiser he had. I remember meeting him and his kaiser about 1976. He rebuilt my motor and trans, new clutch in 1976. It ran outstanding !!

What have we used for 49-50 Virginian Fender Skirt Rubber?

Thanks, William in Whittier

Thanks,
Notice the line under the Manhattan? If my understanding is right those fit the 47-48 Frazers and there a little shorter then the 49-50 Frazers.

Virginians, Hardtops, Convertibles, & Dragons / Re: convertible top

Not an expert on this but for a 49 hardtop no top is made.

Bill's Auto Upholstery & Window Tinting in La Habra ca. I think can do it. He can do a Virginian Vinyl top. Does nice work too.

Sorry so long getting back. Restoring a car is a lot of work...

49 kaiser Virginian, no power windows but in time I would like electric power windows.
I would be interested in seeing how a 49 Frazer conv. wiring looks like.

Any 49-50 power window switch's around for sale ?

Also 49-50 Frazer "Manhattan" Emblem's for sale ?

And source for fender skirt gasket ?

And source for outside body trim clips ?

 Thanks, William in Whittier Ca.

Thanks, Fid
This is vary helpful. I too have the old wiring harness to go by. It will be interesting to see if the 49 kaiser and frazer use the same wires with tracers. My frazer dome light wire is faded bad, maybe a cleaner will help.

Make me smile seeing how simple these cars are. Try to do this with a new car...  :^)

When judging does wire color and tracer get judged?

Also has anyone tried LED bulbs and how do they work?

Thanks, Wil in Whittier

On the 49 Virginian and convertibles the wiring run different then the 4 door cars. Is there a picture for the Virginian and convertibles anywhere that shows the wiring "Installed View" like there is for the 49 4 door?
(see picture) "Frazer Wiring Installed View"

Also,

In the picture "Wire Key" it shows the color but nothing about the "Tracers" in the wire. When I make a wire harness what wire do I use? I see I can get one color or a color with tracers in it.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, The Weist's Motors  511 s. Greanleaf, Whittier is, I think, where Dave Schenk Dodge was. It's a park now.
My dad bought a new 1970 challenger there. He paid 2600.00 for it if i remember right. Orange, Stripped to the bone, no radio, 225 slant 6, 3 speed stick on the floor.

Are there any KF license plate frames around from one of those Whittier dealers?

Really cool pictures! I love this kind of stuff!

Did Brooks Stevens remodel the 49 50 frazer trim/grill with the Howard Darrin body?
