General Discussion / Henry J and 51-53 Kaiser Engine Paint Color Code
« on: April 16, 2023, 11:18:27 AM »
I am looking all over this forum and can't find the old chat where someone posted the paint code or name for the Green Engine Paint for the Engine.  Anyone know the current name of the paint and where I can find it?

General Discussion / Sagging Leaf Spring Assist
« on: March 19, 2023, 12:53:12 AM »
My 1951 K512 Deluxe had rear air shocks to compensate for the sag for many years. After a air leak developed, I have now removed the air shocks and rent back to normal shocks.  I am debating on getting new rear springs or doing a leaf spring assist like this one.

Has anyone had any luck with these assist kits on our cars?

General Discussion / Rose Parade New Years Eve Car Cruise
« on: January 02, 2019, 12:41:28 PM »
Sharing awesome photo of our 1951 Kaiser Deluxe turning off Colorado Blvd during the New Years Eve Car Cruise in Pasadena on 12/31/18.  Over 1500 cars cruise back and forth on Parade route.  Cars meet up at different Meeting spots early in morning, then all hit Colorado Blvd at 10 AM.  Our meeting spot at a Mall had 500 cars alone.  I was only K-F product seen.
SoCal Region, we are going to plan This for Next year.  Colorado Blvd was gridlocked with classic cars
Both directions while people camping out for Parade also enjoyed all the beautiful cars.  Happy New Year everyone.

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Speedometer Pinion Gear 16 Tooth
« on: May 10, 2017, 11:02:54 PM »
My 1952 Henry J 6 cylinder with no overdrive needs a 16 tooth Speedometer pinion gear that goes into the manual transmission.   Any suggestions where I can locate one?
I see other post from 2012 that talks about Whacks having the 18 tooth, but this is definitely 16 tooth.
The shaft of the gear has part # SW448145

Suggestions?

General Discussion / Wheel Bearing Grease
« on: April 23, 2017, 12:05:33 PM »
I am replacing the inner front wheel seals in my car, and found new brake shoes.

In regards to wheel bearing grease, guy at Napa is saying to use Wheel Bearing Grease, but my car friendss are saying to use multipurpose for the Kaiser because of the drum brakes.

Suggestions? What do you all use for front wheel bearings?

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Brake shoes
« on: April 13, 2017, 01:06:40 AM »
My 1952 Henry J had the right front inner seal go bad, which got grease in the brakes, causing it to pull hard to the left.  Grease contaminated the front brake shoes.  It needs new front brake shoes.  Local Napa is unable to locate any, and Centric has none in stock.

Has anyone used the ones listed on Ebay?

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Defroster Elbows for Henry J and Darrin
« on: August 26, 2016, 01:38:45 AM »
Forum Members, We have found a local manufacturer that sounds like he can reproduce the 90 degree elbows for the heater ducts for HJ and Darrin.  I have a excellent one that is soft rubber that will be used as mold.  (Pictures)

We are looking for rough idea of how many would be interested in purchasing pair of elbows for their car.  No commitment, just trying to figure out a idea of a initial production run.  Hoping to keep cost reasonable depending on the quantity ordered on initial run.

General Discussion / SoCal Region Meet Saturday 3/12
« on: March 11, 2016, 12:54:11 PM »
Tomorrow, the SoCal Region is having a Meet at the Automobile Driving Museum in El Segundo, CA.  If you are in Southern California area, it will be a great meet.  The museum is featuring Kaiser Frazer.

It is right next to LAX.  If any of you East Coasters fly out for the day, I or another member may pick you up in a Kaiser-Frazer.

Check out the museum at http://www.automobiledrivingmuseum.org
They have a 1948 Kaiser and a 1952 Manhattan in their museum fleet.

A guy near me has just  purchased a 51 Kaiser.  I am helping him decipher the data plate.  I have the handbook, but I have some questions.  The Data plate is attached.  I am not finding Paint 573.  And what is the A in the body number?

The interior 2150 is Green Richmond with Volta Cloth.

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Radiator Pressure
« on: September 07, 2015, 01:17:14 AM »
My 52 Henry J 6 cylinder has got me baffled.  After running it, I turn it off, and the relief tube starts dripping from radiator.  I have flushed radiator, replaced cap with new 4 psi cap, and still drips after a good ride.  Suggestions?  No sign of bad head gasket.  Oil level is same.  Running 50% antifreeze and 50% distilled water.   Thoughts ? suggestions ?

General Discussion / Autopia at Disneyland -Darrin??
« on: March 24, 2015, 12:08:19 PM »
I am not far from Disneyland.  We are spending some spring break time with the kids at the park.

On the Autopia ride, you drive cars around a track similar to freeways.  It has not changed for the last 50 years.  If you have been on it, it has not really changed much.on the course, you pass a park that is naturally called "Car Park".  The statue in the park is a convertible.

Please appreciate the photos.  I had to wait in line another 40 minutes to do it again to get a photo.  Getting the photo was even riskier when you consider I could get rear ended by the kids driving behind me.

Is it a Darrin?????
