Henry J & Allstate Forum / Henry J headliner

I'm thinking about getting a new headliner, I helped with one once but never done one myself. I've looked at a UTube video of one being done and noticed that they had the windows and all window seals out. While I can see that this made it easier to stretch the material, they had it clamped to the window edges making it easier to smooth the creases. Is it possible to replace the headliner with windows still in?

Watched the re-make of Stephen King's "IT" last night and noticed a Henry J in a field across from the Scary House in the film. If you search Google under Stephen King Kaiser IT, click on images, they have pictures of the car. The film apparently was made in Oshawa, Canada. Pictures also on foap.com. When I can get back and look I'll try to get the photographer's name, as he sells download photos of the car.

Anybody know of a source for the bushings that go on the upper end of the linkage rods near the steering box? mine are missing, 53 henry j

Parts For Sale & Wanted / Oil Filter canister and bracket

Hi all, have an oil filter canister and mounting bracket that came off a 51 4 cylinder Henry J. Canister appears Ok the bracket was broken and was welded at some point in its life, don't know if anyone wanted this I wasn't planning on  using it, since its not pristine I'd let it go for whatever the postage would be, thanks, Mike

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Overdrive swap question

Hi all, I was asking Fid some questions about swapping an Overdrive Tranny into my 1953 Henry J which started life a base model 4 cylinder 3 speed manual. I am collecting parts to put an Overdrive in, the axle on the car at the moment is the original which has 4.26 gears. Fid informed me that '51 4 cylinder models and later Overdrives had 4.55 gears. My question is what effect would it have on the car to attempt to run it with the 4.26 gears? Maybe it would not run well, anyone have ideas or have done this, or know of someone that did??

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Pos-Neg again

If anyone followed the previous post on positive-negative ground, I have a '53 Henry J a little over a month now. Somewhere along the line it was switched from pos to neg ground. The batt cables were switched as well as the coil terminals. When I start putting things back together, if I switch back the batt cables and switch the coil terminals, polarize the generator, is there other things I should look at/watch for?
