General Discussion / Graham-Paige Rototiller
« on: August 28, 2019, 10:30:16 AM »
It may commonly be thought that Joe Frazer was responsible for acquiring the rights to the Rototiller from C. W. Kelsey, but that is incorrect and I just found another letter to support that.  The first letter is referenced in my website article at http://www.zucksrototillers.com/Joe.html and the one I just found was written by R.J. Hodgson, then president of G-P and is attached.  P.E.G. Nielsen was Rototiller, Inc. first dealer and was located in Glen Rock, NJ.

General Discussion / A Great Friend
« on: February 16, 2018, 03:47:15 PM »
I lost a great friend in the collecting hobby last fall.  I am speaking of Robert C Antram.  He is the man who sparked the flame within me to become a collector of the Frazer Rototiller.  He fueled that spark by sharing so much information that took him years to collect without the aid of the Internet.  I thought it humorous that some of the literature had a note "for you eyes only" and "do not share".  His interest and mine branched into the connection with ROTOTILLER, INC. in Troy, NY.  Through another avenue I got to know some of those associated with Troy-Bilt and ROTOTILLER, INC. and was fortunate to answer some questions that Bob was searching for.  He and his son Dave talked me into attending the national meet in Gettysburg in 2015 along with a freshly restored B1-6 ROTOTILLER.  I am so thankful that I went and the two of us could represent the other part of the Kaiser Frazer story.  It is because of Bob's quest for the rest of the story that I have continued researching the history of the Frazer ROTOTILLER and ROTOTILLER, INC.  I have done things that I never thought I would do in that I have developed a large website on the ROTOTILLER brand, have written many articles on different models, and because of all of that I have become a more out going person.  I truly will miss my friend Bob Antram!

General Discussion / Quarterly
« on: March 10, 2017, 09:19:35 PM »
I am fairly new here and wonder when the quarterly comes out.  If one came out since August, I did not get one.  There was a mix up in my renewal and went a month or two before it got taken care of.

General Discussion / Kaiser Bill Brown link
« on: February 19, 2017, 03:12:43 PM »
I do not know who has the Kaiser Bill Brown website, but many of the links on there are dead.  A link to Ben Walker's site takes you to a p***o site.  Maybe it should be removed from the links page.

General Discussion / Joe Frazer and ROTOTILLER
« on: January 19, 2017, 07:54:43 PM »
I have been a collector of G-P Rototillers as a hobby since 2000 and have owned one since 1977.  Besides collecting the G-P Rototiller, I collect all Rototiller brand equipment and I am equally interested in the history of both companies.  Early on in my hobby Robert C Antram was a big help in providing information he had collected over the years and also shared questions that he still had.  I read all the articles I could find on Rototiller, especially the G-P Rototiller.  I had the great opportunity to connect with former Troy-Bilt employees, a couple of these people had father's who worked for Rototiller in Troy, NY.  In 2012 I went to Troy and spent a day at the Rensselaer County Historical Society and Museum to research their archives from the Garden Way Company.  Among those files was some great information pertaining to the contract with G-P to build a version of the large tiller that Rototiller, Inc. was building until 1944.  So with that information and information from other sources I wrote a story on the history of the "Frazer Rototiller".  It is posted on my website at http://www.zucksrototillers.com/Joe.html

General Discussion / Kaiser Frazer Library?
« on: December 31, 2016, 08:21:11 PM »
I was wondering what happened to the on-line Kaiser-Frazer Library?  A few years ago I stumbled across it when I was looking for more info on the G-P ROTOTILLER and downloaded some articles from there.  Well in case you did not know there are archive sites that take snapshots of websites.  Using one of those sites tonight I went searching in the library.  There is lots of neat stuff in the archived library.  One problem is that some of the photos are not on some of the pages.  Anyway it seemed like a very nicely done on-line library and would be great to have it available in full once again.

General Discussion / Rototiller article by Ben Walker
« on: December 19, 2016, 03:39:04 PM »
I am looking for an article that Ben Walker wrote about the G-P Rototiller that was in the 1987 Quarterly Volume 3.  I think it was entitled "Down on the farm with Graham-Paige and Joe Frazer.  If someone would kindly scan and send it to me, I would greatly appreciate it.  I would also buy the copy of the Quarterly with that article if someone has a copy they would part with.
