General Discussion / Jerry Laurin
« on: March 05, 2020, 12:55:01 PM »
The obituary for Jerry Laurin, a long-time member of the KFOCI who once owned one of the earliest production Kaisers extant. Unfortunately, the car was involved in a garage fire and was heavily damaged, but that didn't diminish Jerry's spirit and love of the cars. He will be missed.

« on: March 03, 2020, 08:37:27 PM »
A local guy is trying to turn a former HJ drag car back into something streetable. He's looking for a trunk latch striker and a used...or even well used...unit is OK. I have a couple strikers but they're for the big Kaisers...the HJ unit is different. Let me know if you can help.

Cars For Sale & Wanted / Tom Wilson collection
« on: December 27, 2019, 01:36:49 PM »
Some of you may remember Tom Wilson from the "old days". An early member of the club, he owned several KFs such as the Sun Goddess, several Frazer convertibles and countless other Studebaker, Packard and AMC automobiles. He was also the fellow who cosmetically restored the AMP Henry J prototype.

Tom's car collection is now at auction and here's a link to the sale -> https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-catalog/43rd-Anniversary-Auction-900-Lots-including-Collector-Cars,-Signs,-Slot-Machines,-Motorcycles-More_D02W192OVJ/

Do a search for Wilson to see the seven cars available - one of which is an ultra rare Davis three wheeler.

« on: September 26, 2019, 08:17:02 PM »
Found this on line - a 53 DeLuxe Traveler at auction in Idaho. Looks restorable.

Here's a 48 Frazer (they think its a 50)

And a 53 Willys pickup that's had an engine transplant (haven't they all??)

https://www.proxibid.com/Collector-Cars/Collector-Trucks-Vans/1953-Willys-Pickup/lotInformation/49969775

A rare find - a well worn 52 Willys Aero.

How about a 52 Willys Station Wagon? Event as it sits, it's probably in better shape than anything you'll find here in the rust belt.

And for those who like their Kaisers a bit newer...

Lastly, for those who like other orphans as well, here's a 55 Hudson with Twin-H and a continental kit. This one would well worth saving.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / For Sale - F Head Six and Overdrive Transmission
« on: September 15, 2019, 08:00:48 PM »
Not mine - found on craigslist. If the engine runs as good as it looks, I'd say it's a good deal. Includes an overdrive transmission as well.

The photo features a Vagabond, but check out the background. The photo was taken at Willow Cottage where customers could take delivery of their new KF.

Yours for a tad over $300 US. Getting it home will set you back considerably more.

Seller says the engine turns but it's not original.

Cars For Sale & Wanted / 1953 Manhattan at Auction
« on: August 04, 2019, 08:40:54 PM »
Not mine...this one is selling at auction in Minnesota. At this writing, bidding is at all of twenty five cents. It needs a driver's door but that's not hard to find.

Cars For Sale & Wanted / Facebook Marketplace Finds
« on: June 28, 2019, 08:22:57 AM »
Found these on Facebook.

1949 Kaiser. The interior is very nice and the seller says it runs and drives. Here's the chance to get into a comfortable running and driving car at a very affordable price.

Another 49 Kaiser. Not as nice as the first but a driver quality candidate none the less.

It rough, but it is a rare early series Traveler.
