Cars For Sale & Wanted / V8 KF Conversion Wanted

Just thought I'd place an ad here to test the waters. I'm contemplating the purchase of a Kaiser or Frazer that's had a V8 conversion done. I'm looking for a car that runs and drives but is someone's uncompleted project. We all know how that goes...a project's started with the best of intentions and then financial issues or loss of interest takes over and the car sits.

The year and model is unimportant to me...I'm just looking for one that's had a transplant and can be driven as-is. Color and interior condition are no big deal either...since it's a conversion I'll deal with paint and seats.

I am on a budget but if the right car comes along...you never know!

General Discussion / 2013 National Convention

For those contemplating the 2013 national convention in Shipshewana, hopefully I can persuade you to attend. In your monthly news bulletin is a registration form along with information about the meet. Because this year's convention is centrally located, we're looking forward to a large turnout. I'm personally hoping for at least 75 cars on show day. If you've never seen more than one Kaiser, Frazer or Willys automobile at a show, this will be your chance to see many and compare one model to another.

While formal judging is, and has always been voluntary, there will be many folks there with the knowledge needed to help you with your car...whether it's to restore to like new, or just make a nice driver of it. Attached is a photo of just a few of the cars at least year's event.

In addition, this year we elect a new slate of officers. We are actively seeking someone to act as club secretary for the next two years. Our current secretary had to step down due to health issues so we're looking for someone to fill his shoes!

Willys Forum / Spring Midwest Willys Reunion Recap

Well, if you missed the spring Willys meet, you missed a great time. 102 Jeeps of various years, models and sizes appeared in the space of three days, along with about 15 vendors selling everything Willys..and even a Kaiser part or two. The meet was less than a half hour from my house so I took in the show and it felt alot like a KF national of old. Over 100 vehicles, more than 200 people at the Saturday evening banquet, and lots of story telling into the wee hours. I sold my 51 Jeepster and it's on its way to Illinois.

If you're a Willys fan then you probably know about the cj2apage, as well as the cj3b page, and the ewillys.com sites. All three site owners were there with the banquet speaker being Derek Redmond from the cj3b page. He gave a very informative talk about the events that led up to the high-hood look of the cj3b. He spoke of Kaiser positively and even included a nice shot of a 53 in his slide show.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / 51 HJ Parts Wanted

I spoke to a local fellow who's trying to resurrect a 51 HJ that was long-ago turned into a drag racer. He's keeping some of the gasser look but is trying to make the car a bit more comfortable. He's looking for the following:
- Rear seat lower (he has the folding rear seat and has the upper backrest)
- Rear upholstery panels
- Window regulators
- Door glass (he has nothing to use as a pattern)

He's not concerned with the material on the seat or panels, he just wants something to fill the space.

Cars For Sale & Wanted / Found! Blast Away - 48 Kaiser

For those of you newer to the KFOCI, we had a member who lived on the west coast and when a national meet was held back east, John would jump in Blast Away, his 48 Kaiser, and head east. The car was (and maybe still is) equipped with an extra fuel tank as well as a manifold holding 2 carburetors. His wife said that 85-90 mph was his average speed and stopping enroute only happened to eat and refuel.
