Here would be the Dragon List :     http://circlekf.com/kfcars/k5301.htm   It was started by Langworth & Behnke . I sent it to Hagen when put on the Web. Many have worked to keep it updated.

Other Dragon info on Our Forums is located under : Virginians, Hardtops, Convertibles, & Dragons ...

This is in front of the radiator on 51 Kaiser on. The headlight & Park light wiring is in the middle on a wiring buss.
Wiring harness from the Headlight switch comes to this point.

Flip them over & take another Picture & it will be what You see when You raise the Hood.

Try the Headlight switch dash dimmer control. This would stop dash lights with dust in it. Glove box ?

There is one possibility to find out details on EACH 1953 Kaiser Dragon produced.  When a Dragon was sold at retail, the Retail Delivery Report Card (RDR) information on buyer name and address was forwarded to Edgar Kaiser's office.  The Dragon owner got a personally signed letter from Edgar thanking him or her for the purchase.  It might just be that there is a folder or folders among Edgar's 1953 Kaiser-Frazer papers that list the buyer info and may even tie back to at least a serial number on the car.  These papers can be perused by the public at the Bancroft Library on the campus of University of California-Berkeley.  The hundreds of banker boxes making up Edgar's material (at least 66 of them specific to Kaiser-Frazer) are dead stored in Richmond so you just can't drop in for a look through, but arrangements can be made in advance to have the appropriate boxes moved over to the library.

This is the only possibility I know of for the info you want at present.
Jack,
My Niece is going to UCLA, but Berkeley was another choice. I wish now She did, this would of been a good assignment for Her.

As stated in KFOCI HANDBOOK Version 4.0, there is NO such thing as a 1953 Golden, Jade, or other type Dragon...all 1953 Dragons are just that...a Kaiser Dragon.   Color types (Golden Dragon, Jade Dragon, etc) are 1951-52 Virginian (yes there were some leftover 1951's that got the treatment) Kaisers only.

Mis-information only causes questions and confusion.

Wish this was in the Dragon Forums. Glad I found this here in General Discussion.
I hope xkssfrank  did not get very far on removing the Bambu Vinyl on His 53 Dragon ?

The Last Onslaught on Detroit by Richard Langworth starting on Page 173-183 has the 53 Dragons info covered. Jim Betts has some of Our K.F. Newsletters when Richard did the Newsletter for the club. I will try to copy & past so everyone can read the Dragon story starting with the 51 Dragons. Plus the start of the Dragon List's 51 & 53.
I have a lot of info on this in My story of research on Dragons on how the list helped in the Dragon Forums.

I have been told even though the Kaiser Golden Dragon We know was a Name for a 1951 Color combination, in1953 the Name continued with the Gold Ornament's that was chrome on the other Kaisers. But was never as far as I know official name from Kaiser.

Like 2002 , 1952 was a short Year for Production. If You have been around a Dealership & You find out Your last One or Two orders of New Vehicles has been canceled something is wrong.

Note: Early 64 1/2 Ford Mustang is not the same. Other Production was normal it was to be a surprise.

Please go to Page 2.

How many Times We search for Kaiser Frazer & it comes up 0 on Google or Craig's list. ? Looked in the big News papers when 20-30 antique cars in the Old Day's but No K.F. ... So I want to Thank Jake for the Heads up on this One...

This Dragon here For Sale is the Son of a former K.F. Jeep Dealer. This was the only Dragon sold a that Dealer.   He is the second Owner.
It is now been Sold back to Original First Family Member that wanted it back. Hope they Join Our Club .

Roy has been a member of Our Club off & on. He helped Me start My Research by getting Me to Join the Club. He let Me use His copy of Last Onslaught till I could get a copy.  I told Richard Langworth  His book, Our Great Club, & help from God I found Our Original Dragon in 7 Months after being lost for 15 Years. Owner did not want to sell. I was lucky because I found One for Sale in the Club. Later another.

This Dragon was restored in 1979. The Bambu Top was the last of enough the Original Our club had to do a Top.  Interior inserts was as close as He could get because they had not started doing the Laguna Cloth at that Time. Remember someone in Chicago later was doing small samples first with a computer ?  Now SMS along with Richard Hansen been working on Laguna Cloth. We all know about the Vinyl's SMS has produced. Good Job.

Note: If Your Dealer sold a lot of Kaiser Frazer You would get a Dragon. It was an Honor from Kaiser.  So Roy's Family did well & had Jeep till the 90's I think.

I heard the Dealer Blackwell in North Central Oklahoma & a small Town in Kansas got 4-5 Dragons each. But when they sold one they would try to order another. We all know a lot of rare Dragon's wound up on the West coast. The rare executive K. F . Product as well.  I am from both locations so love the research .

Thanks to any Club member that helps keep Me posted on the Dragon's... Remember though I am ready to talk about all the K.F. Product...

I'd be interested in knowing more about that leather upholstered Custom too Gordie. While the handbook, and other sources (an old quarterly from the early 70s) stated that leather was an option on the 1948 Custom, I have only seen one that had leather. That's the Linden Green one my father had in the early 1970s. All green leather including headliner, windlace and kick pads. I've posted pictures on here before. I'd be interested in knowing if the one you're referring to is the same one.

This was the Only Leather Kaiser Custom I have seen. It was at the Wichita, KS. K.F. National .  It is a rare beautiful Vehicle.

Remember H. J. Kaiser loved Green. The Custom was made so a Kaiser would be as fancy as a Frazer in the Early Years...

Note: Other K. F. Members & I have found rare Kaiser 47 & 48 , or made for famous People had Hood ornaments.
Oh this could be another forum ?

MY AV DRAGON IS !!!DONE!! Mine was the FIRST Dragon to get the new Bambu and Boucle ,material from SMS I worked with Mr. Pollack to get the stuff so i was first, and the Green with the random stripe was the BIG hold up until i got an  engineering drawing to him.  he also has my silk screen negative and positive to make the Marie Nichols Laguna cloth,  Gerald Bonham  is where I got my top material, Ideal chrome Plating is where I got the Chrome and gold plating done, Larry Barker can help there. SMS is where i got my CAL POINT CARPET using my pattern  from the original carpet. when I bought the vinyl it was $90.00 per yard X 26 combined yards the carpet for the interior was $400.00 the trunk was $175.00 the chrome  & Gold was North of $3000.- Had the car at the San Diego meet , Took Gold, took it to Chico  Ca.Butte Creek  Estates Country Club ccca meet and won first in category 1944-1954 American manufacturer

Folks,
This AV Dragon is a # One Good Job Showing that SMS     http://www.smsautofabrics.com/   (Look under Feature Product)     can reproduce to Original Quality Vinyl the patterns.
Thanks to Dusty finding someone that can do good reproduction for Everything to re due Your Dragon even if not an All Vinyl.
They do the Laguna cloth & the carpets.

The Vinyl as You can see (We are not misspelling the Names) Bambu, Boucle, & for the Sport Top Poplin = (Calvery twill Name used by Vinyl Folk) used on the Green - White Top AV Dragons is to a peak of fine Quality.

The Vinyl pattern was one thing. But Dusty worked with SMS till Dye & 4-5 shades of Green in the Bambu was perfect. Worked hard on the pattern of Laguna Cloth as well.

Keep up the Good Work.
