According to my Champion spark plug catalog J9 is hotter than J8. The higher the number in the same type the hotter the heat range. I think this is also true of old AC and Autolite numbers. A7 would be hotter than A5. Hotter heat range means the core of plug retains more heat to stay hotter to help ward off fouling. It doesn't necessarily mean a hotter spark.

Thats a 54 Manhattan. It's supposed to have the supercharger. It's just missing. Still a really good restoration candidate.

Looking closer at the interior,look at the non Kaiser shift mechanism and emergency brake handle and the round brake pedal .Check out the original K key. I blew them up for a better look. Wonder what is or was under that hood?

That's the same car in the other pictures. A 54 early Special with a Chrysler steering wheel and Chrysler wire wheels. The chrome lower dash is from some other Kaiser.

The 1955 Hollander Manual shows 47-48 Kaiser and Frazer radiator as #496. 49-50 Kaiser and 49-51 Frazer as #554. They don't show these two numbers interchanging with each other or with any other cars. Hope this helps.

The Hollander Manual shows 51-55 full size Kaiser radiator as #592. The 49-54 chevy car is #523. They also say the cores interchange between the #592 and #523. So do the tanks. The assembly will interchange between Kaiser and Chevy if you switch the soldered on mounting brackets.

Vacuum wipers were standard on Carolina and DeLuxe. Normally they were fed from the vacuum booster part of the double action fuel pump. Sometimes the correct double action fuel pump wasn't available so people would use a single one. Then they hooked the vacuum hose directly from the wiper motor to the intake manifold. This didn't bother the wipers much. Maybe the Carolina was so cheap that Kaiser only gave them the single type fuel pump ? Vacuum wipers were kinda lame with or without the booster.

Some libraries have old city directories. These list all the businesses and residences in the city. The town hall may have them or know who does. I have a couple from my town and they sure are interesting.

I really like the 62 Carabela on the December calendar. It would be really interesting to see more pictures of it, especially the dash,interior and any other things that differ from the USA built Kaiser. I'll bet some of the other members would too.
