I used a one wire GM alternator.

I'm leaning that way, I have to a lot of work already~ Might as well do it..... I have a 12 genni in the shop from one of my 55 Pontiacs  ;)

I got the horn working on my 49 Kaiser. Had to replace the ground wire and horn relay. I used a Standard brand relay #HR106. Keep in mind my car is now a 12 v beg ground car so I had to reverse wires to make the horn blow. Works fine. Boy is it loud.

So are you using a genni or an alternator? (for your 12 volt swap)

What's the total over all width? In my O/T car (49 Hudson) I'm using a Jeep Cherokee rear in/on it , It was a toss up between that & a Ford explorer or a Volvo {which are all fairly good rears W/ Possies)

If the engine rotates you should have this running in no time.  Thanks for saving another KF from the scrap pile.

It rotates, but very slow. I believe some one may have burned the starter up.

I've been trying to join for some time but was unable to register (some kind of glitch?)
Well any how ~~A buddy who scraps cars send me a picture text of these 51 Kaiser that he bought from a scrap metal auction ~ Wanting to know if I wanted it? I figure my wife (Michelle) would say 'NAH' I already have 5-6 projects, But went home & showed her and she was freaken out telling me she wanted it! We cruise over and look at it and Michelle goes gaga over it! Telling me 'we' have to save it!!  :o
I make a deal to buy it for $850 on payments (since I'm usually broke) It needs some work, needs a fuel tank since ours is missing & has been replace with a boat tank? some wiring (the scrapper's bother tried to hot wire it- why NO CLUE.... he could have just turned the ignition switch) a bunch of cleaning because it was stored for some time in a dirt barn or field? I also have to get a title because the auction company didn't keep any of the titles for the cars/trucks... he said to much paper work & that's why it was sold for scrap. :-\

I also belong to the Kaiser Facebook page so some of ya may recognize this car from my posts about? ::)
