Needed for our '53 Dragon -- the original has long gone missing.
Also looking for an original bumper jack.

Thanks,
Fred

Kaiser Forum / How much vinyl do I need to cover '53 AV Dragon's top

G.B. says that 4.5 to 5 yards should do.  Sounds right to me.  Agreed?
BTW -- our Dragon was equipped with "poplin" rather than Bambu, so matching at seams should be mo problem.

Can someone point me to a source for a carb rebuild kit for my '53 Kaiser Dragon?  It has a Carter WGD.  Looks like a single-barrel to my untrained eye, but Willow Run KF parts lists it as a two-barrel,  Is that right?

Thanks, FredO

Q:  "How long in the family?"

My Dad bought Henry in 1958, the second owner.  I learned to drive in 1966.  Soon after, Henry developed an engine problem [burnt valve?].  About the same time, Dad won a Pontiac Tempest in a raffle. So Henry sat in the garage, unrepaired, for a long time -- first in Dad's garage, then in mine.  My son, Justin, sparked the resurrection in 1998.  Over a period of years, we pulled the engine and sent it out for rebuild, rebuilt the brakes and lots of other stuff.  Henry returned to operation, complete with PS state inspection, in July 2005 -- moving again after 38 years!

Some curious person asked if I can post photos of our family heirloom / work in progress.  That's Henry.
Let's sere if I can figure out how to do it.  If not, maybe you can see him live in Gettysburg.

PS:  Little Joss (Gen 4) is next in line. After is first ride, he said,"Oh, Daddy, this is the awesomest car I ever drove!"

Do you have side mirrors for '53 Dragon?

Recently bought a new 'K' insert for hood emblem of my '53 Dragon.  Sure would like to find a matching shiny new 'K' for the trunk.

See you at the Gettysburg National.

Looking for advice about --

(1)  How to unstick vent control cables [and other heater controls] that are frozen tight, but not rusted [garaged car].

(2)  side view mirror for a '53 K Dragon

Thanks for your response!

My son & I are slowly restoring "Henry" the Family Heirloom, a '53 Holly Mist Green all vinyl Dragon.  Engine, brakes, etc. are done.  Now it's time for cosmetics.
(1)  Need source for white "poplin" vinyl for the top, as well as rubber seals for windshield & backlight.  And most important, any advice about how to do this job!  Upholstery shop said they would glue edges at drip rail.  Is that a good idea?
(2)  Source for carpets, interior &  trunk.  The rest of the interior is in surprisingly good condition.
(3)  All those gold bits on hood, trunk, & fenders are pitted and/or painted.  I shudder to think of the cost, but ...  Can you recommend someone who can do it?  Any idea of the cost??
(4)  One more thing, the driver's side wiper floats above the glass [not much help!]  Can I just replace the spring at the base of the arm?

Many thanks for any and all tips!
