The steering wheel reminds me of a Studebaker.

If your housing is free of kinks, replace the inside cable with a new one. You can soak the old housing in some CLR cleaner and rinse with clear water. Allow it to air dry then use an aerosol graphite spray with the tube on the can, fill the cable housing with the graphite allow to dry then roll the cable a few time then insert the new cable into the housing and cut to the length you need and crimp the ends.  Rudy Phillips might have what you need and can save you a bunch of time. Good Luck.

On my 49 Traveler it is also on the underside of the steering column. I have the manual trans. I can send you a photo if you can use it, let me know.

Google translate:

"Kaiser Manhattan Traveler, an unusually early hatchback coupe, for even if the American from the side looks like a conventional car said it is not."

Kaiser Forum / 49 Traveler rear door stuck shut
« on: December 19, 2012, 10:42:04 AM »
The rear door on my 49 Kaiser Traveler is stuck shut, I have no room to work to pull the panel off and  get to the assembly, anyone have any suggestions. The door handles on the other two doors wouldn't engage the latches and I  had a field day with them also. I ended up climbing from the back into the front seat then hitting the interior of the front doors many times to get them open. The rear passanger door has been treated with spray lube and I have used a small prybar to attempt to open it and I would almost swear it was welded shut like the rear drivers door.  Thanks for your suggestions.

This is not my car, but if you want more photo's and any additional info pm me and I will go to Andy's and get more info for you. I think this is one of the last cars to sell at Ed Bernier's estate auction.

See if the local library can do an ad search in the old newspapers. They might find an ad for the dealer. You might also try newspaperarchive.com to see if they have any local newspapers online.

Cars For Sale & Wanted / Re: WANTED 1966 Chevy Nova SW WANTED
« on: November 24, 2012, 11:11:00 AM »
Hi Jack, I don't blong to any of the Chevrolet web sites and I wanted to see if anyone in our Kaiser-Frazer Family had or wanted to dispense with a vehicle they may have or know of. If this is offensive to the rest of the Kaiser folks I will request the administrator to remove my request. Thanks and I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with love, family and great food.

My buddy is looking for a 1966 Chevrolet Nova Station he would  prefer one with a 6cyl and manual 3 with OD. But any size engine will do. It doesn't have to be turnkey.   If you know of one or have one for sale please let me know.  Thanks Kenn

I didn't pay close attention to the voltage, when I get to the shop I will look. I think its 12 volt. I bought it about 8 years ago or so.

I watched the edition on Jay's Garage and the car looked nice.  It didn't show Jay Leno sitting  in it so I don't have a good scale for the vehicles size. I don't think it would comfortable hold us tall and large guys, but I maybe way wrong. Thanks for sharing.
