General Discussion / South Central Fall Meet in Nocona Texas
« on: November 08, 2021, 07:21:58 PM »
Just returned from the fall meet in Nocona Texas and want to thank Bob and Cathy Howard for a great time . The small town of Nocoma ( i was told about 3 thousand people ) has so much to see . One of the best auto museums i have ever seen , Nokona base ball glove manufacturing museum and tour , the local area museum was  great and you got a personnel tour by a ***** Cat . Stayed with us the whole time . The boot factory was not open when we were there but made gorgeous cowboy boots . Wish we could have gotten the tour .
Again , thanks Bob and Cathy.

The Henry J 4 cylinder is the same as Willys Jeep of the same era so parts are plentiful .

It does not look like any KF gas pedal i have ever seen . I saw a gas pedal offered on EBAY that is correct .

I have to agree with Joefrazer and Gordi . Blocking people out surly wouldn't help membership numbers . Only hurt . I know some new members came from the forum . I don't post much but have been checking the forum twice a day for years . I think it would hurt , not help .

Henry J & Allstate Forum / Re: HENRY J REAR BRAKE SPRING TOOL
« on: August 08, 2020, 05:37:45 AM »
I hope I get the wording right . Here goes . Put the short end of the spring in the appropriate hole . Using a screwdriver with a round shaft , place the other end of the spring on the screwdriver shaft and put the end of the screwdriver shaft in the other spring hole . Use the driver as a lever to put the spring end in position by letting it slide on the shaft to the mounting hole . It might take a little maneuvering to get it in the hole with needle noise pliers or the like . It might need a little tapping with a tool to pop it in .  This is how I always do it and works for me .

Kaiser Forum / Re: paint chips
« on: July 26, 2020, 06:22:16 PM »
I spent a good part of the afternoon in the KFOCI handbook ( I should have started there ) and found that gunmetal grey didn't come out until April of 52 . No metallic for gunmetal are shown anywhere . The caribean coral non metallic looks purple and the repaint on the car is purple . The paint code calls for caribean coral metallic . Down on the steering column is an area of paint that looks like the caribean coral I recognize from other cars . I will go with those colors if I can find a vendor for the paint . I am in sort of a rural area and probable will have to 100 miles or more to find a vendor . Thanks all for your input .

Please look at your paint chips and see if I am wrong . The carribean coral without metallic looks to be a purple  . The metallic is more of a gold color . I have seen many cars with the carribean coral with the metallic ( which is a beautiful color to me ) but have never seen the one that looks purple . I have paint chips showing both but the years stated on the sheets do not match the 51/52 . Will they be the same ? Also , did the gunmetal grey come in metallic ?

Looking at paint chip pages on EBAY and the word Iridescent shows up by the color name . Does this indicate metallic ? If not , What does it mean ? Been looking for carribean coral metallic to get a paint mix for a 52 . I see it in some earlier chips . Are they the same ?
