You did great, more people need to get the parts interchange catalog, it has all the necessary p/n's  and lists what NAPA may interchange automatically. the substitute is AIRTEX, same p/n 6v 5-8 psi with all the hoses and clamps in the kit still has neg or pos hookup. mine is on my Dragon and used only at startup. NAPA price today list 128.36   dealer price 78.39 metal in line filter 9.45 switch 6.45

Check out the seat inserts they should be Marie Nichols (Laguna Cloth) and the engine looks to have early KF paint not 1953 color, has the engine been out of the car? maybe thats why they only want 9+ for it.

I had 3 Kaiser's with bad carriers and was told they couldn't weld the hole and redrill it as it would gall even with grease in the housing , the unit had been run with low or no fluid. or with  miss matched tires on that axel . what they suggested was drill the hole round sleeve or bush  the PIN with a hardened steel  bushing welded in place on the pin. so that the pin still moved in the housing. that 52 is still on the road for the last 3 years. well see.

Kaiser Forum / Re: Brake Shoes On A 1948 Kaiser
« on: August 24, 2012, 08:21:39 PM »
BRAKE SHOE REPLACEMENT AS PER MANUAL!! Both thebrake shoe sets and the lining sets consist of replacement parts for either both front wheels or both rear wheels. Front and rear shoes for eachwheel are marked "FORWARD and REVERSE"RESPECTIVELY and MUST be installed in their CORRECT POSITION ON THE SUPPORT PLATE. Notice that the forward shoe is fitted with a longer lining surface than rear shoe . ( by measurement the forward shoe lining is 11" long and the rear is 9 " in length. the information verbatim is on page 214 of the manual.   as a further note in order to avoid an accident on 1-5 in California i had to press on the pedal so hard i literally threw mu hip out of joint. now i get around with all artificial joints I found that i had the linings in the wrong way and there is NO self actuating assist with the short one in the front!!

Kaiser Forum / Re: Gas tank removal :(..
« on: July 26, 2012, 08:58:43 PM »
I have had 4 tanks that needed cleaning and fixing so i did as follows---(1) remove fuel line at tank BE SURE TO USE 2 WRENCHES  one for the line fitting and one for the soldered in fitting. that solder will not take much torquing to break it lose from the tank,(2) remove 2 bolts holding the tank closest to axle ( use 2 zip ties to hold tank and splash guard in position) (3) remove filler neck clamp closest to filler neck (4) loosen screw and nut holding filler neck, wriggle filler neck from hose. (5) remove bolt at rear of tank, cut zip ties, lower it  by tipping it toward center of car, (6) remove wire from sending unit, this wire is fed through a hole in the trunk floor behind the gas filler neck housing. I have tanks cleaned at a radiator shop and used a gallon of carburetor cleaner , the home remedy worked best for me and a lot less costly," it is also reusable'  tHEN USED GAS TANK RESTORE.

PARTS LIST.  i WORKED WITH AG ARRIZABELA SOME YEARS AGO  and used his typewritten p/l with his best wishes to put together a napa interchange list and the El dorado region sold it to club members. since then NAPA has a complete part numbering system in place and DISCONTINUES listing parts that are 10-13 years out of production in their computers. I have a dealers account with NAPA and try to keep all the numbers up to date, but with all the on going mergers and acquisitions by NAPA there has become many parts that have the same number but have numerous descriptions.  then there are all the foreign cars that have numbers the same . when i am researching so many parts i have to look at the picture and the where used information. the parts lists that are over 5 years old are only a guide when working with a young counter person that wasn't even born when you retired. then there are many sources listed that will prove invaluable when your stumped as to where, how and how soon can i get the part i need.
