General Discussion / Orphan Car Meet - Morgantown, PA
« Last post by rdgodwin1954@gmail.com on March 17, 2024, 10:53:45 AM »
There is an upcoming, July 23-27, 2024, orphan car show and swap meet at the Classic Auto Mall, Morgantown, PA (classicautomall.com), in south central PA. The Studebaker Drivers Club (SDC) Atlantic Zone is the sponsor. This will be an indoor swap meet and car show within a very large building. I am in KFOCI and SDC. We invite orphan car owners to attend and show their vehicles. My '54 Kaiser Special will be in the show. There will be parts vendors, local tours, and food. The host hotel, Holiday Inn, is attached to the Classic Auto Mall. Hotel phone is 610-286-3000 with a $109 rate (good until 7/1/24). Entry is free to the auto mall.

Contact for the meet and show is Jim Sinclair, 717-413-8157. I would like to get a flyer and notice for the meet into our next bimonthly K-F-W magazine. Information with how to do that would be appreciated. Would also appreciate help in getting this information out to other KFW owners who aren't regularly using this website (e.g., facebook users). Thank you, Bob Godwin

@Darrin100
I agree with you 100%. I refuse to join FB, mainly for the reasons you bring up.
My wife is always telling me that she came across some amazing content on FB, but when she goes to share with me, she can't find it.

Joe -- thanks much for the response and background.  Sadly this speaks to your suggestion to post/review on the two FB sites.    I am a huge fan of this kind of forum -- much more than FB.   Primarily because of the vast history that can be archived "forever" and searched for in a more thorough way than FB (as far as my experience has shown.)  In addition, forums like this tend to have less naive members, less (or no) snarky responses and less phishing.    I would LOVE to have this forum become THE go-to,  robust compendium of Darrin (and KF!) info out there.  I understand this is wishful thinking and given what you wrote, seems like an uphill battle.

Meanwhile I hope that the behind-the-scenes work will yield success and that we can continue to use this site to post images and information in addition to the FB sites.

Thanks !!!

The Simple Machines platform this forum runs on is over ten years old and is running out of allotted space. There is some behind the scenes work happening to try to capture some of the data so it's not lost, as well as to update the supporting code. Meanwhile, hiccups like this might occur.

I tried to post a small .jpg image, but got the same message as you did. Plus, I had trouble submitting the post!

General Discussion / Unable to post images ....

Anyone have any ideas why I'm suddenly not able to post images with my new topic?

 I'm getting an error that reads "An Error Has Occurred!  Your attachment couldn't be saved.  This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.  Please consult your server administrator for more information."

I'm attempting to upload 2 JPG images that are both around 780k -- not huge files.  In the past I've successfully uploaded as many as 6 images with file sizes over 4MB.... so unless this site/ server has changed its parameters, file size does not appear to be an issue.  As for taking longer, this message appears instantly when I try to post.   I've tried posting in both Firefox and in Chrome with the same result.

Can anyone point me to the administrator for this site in case they have more insight?  THANKS!!!

(As an experiment, I attempted to ADD an image this post that has already gone live -- but I get the same "AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED" messge.  UPDATE:  I see that this topic attempted to post an image - but it's blank below.  Does anyone else see that??)
