Side view mirror(s)
« on: July 05, 2016, 01:09:33 PM »
So I'll need to get a side view mirror (at least driver's side is required) to keep the local po-po happy if I'm going to keep tooling around in the HJ...

What does anyone (that does have one) have, and how do you like it?  Pictures would be helpful, too  :)

And aside from typical mirror installations, has anyone seen an HJ with a fender mirror mounted, and if so, how does it look?

Ready.... GO!  ;D

Here is the Parts and Accessory Bulletin from 1951 with Outside Mirrors

Hope this helps.

Glad to see this come up since my Aero never had an exterior mirror, and it's been decades since I last drove without one.

I have an NOS Aero door mirror, the style that mounts to the door skin rather than clamp on to the frame. I'll dig it out and take a picture of it so you know what to look for.

NAPA used to make a clean, plain, chrome, round mirror that I have on Old Toby. When I went to buy another one for the passenger side 20 years later, the part number is no longer any good.

Finally remembered to take a few pix of the Aero exterior mirror. Now you know what to look for!

I was aked if I had the mount template for the correct door mount Aero mirror and my some miracle, it was still in the box. It's attached along with a few pictures to help with correct mounting.
