Trunk hinges?

Checking to see if anyone is in the process of repopping the hinges or if the manufacting Fund has investigated the possibility? I’ll definitely be looking for a better/new set this year. I picked up a pair cast in brass/bronze. Centers section is ok...the hinges are pretty subpar and thin. Not even close to workable:-(

I purchased these Brass hinges and I am using the original centers, as they work better than the brass ones I purchased.   The person I purchased them from is out, so they are no longer available.

I am fitting my right door and had to add 1/2" of fiberglass to the rear of the door and 3/8" to the front of the door to fit the opening.    As you can see, this door has a lot of patching to make it solid.   I am almost done fitting the door before going on to the left door.

I hope you will be able to find some good hinges, I know what it is like to need parts!!!

yup, I have the same pair...I think mine were just a bad cast.  I'm looking at 3D printing so  I have a direct bolt in...Just weighing my options

There is not too much room to drill and tap for the mounting screws, they will require a bottom tap to get as many threads you need for a tight fit.   Did they get drilled through?   Send a picture of them, it's brass and can be repaired.   I drilled through one of mine as well and just brazed and filed it.

The set I have are drilled and tapped. When I get some patience back and a warm shop I’ll play around with the arrangement, fitting, grinding, shaving and work it to drill the pivot pin. One of the hinge ears seem to be tweaked at an angle...I need to see how they did the step down pin...I’m in OH-IO

There is  a right and a left to these and they are tapered to fit on one side or the other.   It took me a little while to get them all straight and lined up.  You will have to make a jig for drilling the pivot pin.   I can send you a picture of the one I used, if you would like.   We need to talk about what you will use for the pivot pin for what will work and what was done from the factory.   I can send my phone number if that seems appropriate.

Our sun is still working quite well out here in So. Cal. as I just came back from Chicago and single digits-brrrrr!

Ok, here is Jig that I used to drill the pivot hole.   I also have a picture of the door lock slide I found for the door escutcheon, they have to be modified a bit to fit.

I bet that definitely makes the drilling much easier! By chance do you have the original pivot pin disassembled? Trying to figure out the best way to take it apart with out destroying it..
