1947 Frazer plaster styling model

After several years of trying I was able to obtain this plaster styling model of the 47 Frazer. It was brought into a local antique mall by a woman whose grandfather worked for K-F. it is about 9" wide and a shade over 25" long. Note the whitewall tires on one side and blackwalls on the other.

Another club member (not me) has one that I saw years ago when he got it at a Swap Meet.  I believe his is a two-tone 1947-48 Frazer   Another clay showed up at the 2019 National Convention.  It was a 2-tone 1951 Kaiser (many of the 1951's were also used for color tests during the 1952 and 1953 model year development period).

What a beauty!  That is the same color as my '47 GP Frazer.  Lambswool Cream.  White wall tires were not  available until about March 1947, a year after this model was made.

What was available for production was not that important.  The idea was to show color and coordination on a properly proportioned scale model so management and other departments could see what it would look like if the color went into production.

picture 2-16 is from early 1946 and the models include models from proposals from various design houses and independent stylists who answered the "cattle call" from Graham-Paige in 1945 for the postwar G-P automobile design proposals.

picture 3-4 is from late 1946 and shows just Kaiser and Frazer models that include some ideas for possible two-tone paint combinations

If only color transparancies of these two shots existed!
