REAR SEAT SPEAKER
« on: February 03, 2025, 12:17:49 AM »
I see in the 1951 Accessory Price List there is a rear seat speaker 100218 for all Kaiser and Frazer models and all Radios. I can't seem to find a photo or image of where they mount or what they look like. Does anyone know? or preferably, does anyone have a picture? And is there a separate control for the rear speaker volume? If so where is that located? And I don't have the rear speaker. Any ideas where I might find one? Can PM me if you prefer. Thanks!

Yes, 53 Kaiser has Speaker on Dash above Radio & Rear Speaker is on Curb Side behind Back Seat.
It is Mono Not Stereo.

Good Question I have always had is Why did not Put in the Middle in the Back
Research on All Vinyl Dragons & Dragon List.

Thank you, that's interesting. I don't exactly know what you mean by 'curb side', maybe because mine is a '51, but similar to '53' I think. If anyone has a picture will help greatly. Yes seems like a good place might be in the rear package shelf under the window. Thanks again!

The speaker is mounted under the rear package shelf, on the passenger side of the car. A speaker switch (front/rear/mix) mounts at the bottom of the dash. I've seen them mounted in different places.

Thank you, that's fascinating. I might like to do that. I need to get my radio going first and see if it can be heard from the back seat without the rear speaker. I think might be good to have the rear speaker anyway, but first things first. Someone said they had the installation instructions. That would be nice to see how it is done and what hardware might be needed. If I see another Kaiser around, I'll be sure and check out if they have the rear speaker!

Here's a copy of the sales and accessory bulletin announcing the availability of the rear seat speaker. Unfortunately, I do not have the installation  instructions
