53 Dragon
« on: July 24, 2011, 06:09:01 PM »
Does anyone know the e-mail address of the person with the 1953 Kaiser Dragon located in southern
Illinois? It is listed on Craigslist as location Chicago. I get errors trying to respond to the craigslist ad
number in the ad. Thanks

This is probably the third time (at least) that this car has appeared on craigslist. I cannot recall the asking price but I do remember that it was high enough for me to pass on any followup.

Is this the Dragon that was made up by the factory as one of the special show dragons?  The man is in southern Illinois, down by the KY border area.  I may have an email address for him.  He knows what he has.

That is the Dragon he is describing. He did not list a price or extent of any rust or interior condition.

I was in contact with the owner Neal Bryson     nwb1@prodigy.net   asking 3k firm  I have photo's  he sent me on May 18.  If I had the extra $$$ I would jump at it.  Its pretty, I like the color combination. He has all the parts radiator etc.

$3,000 firm for a 999/888 car?  Peanuts, assuming it's complete.

You KF guys should count your blessings.  Lots of neat cars - cheap.  I have only been a member for 8 months and into KF's for about 3 years. I am 47 and been in the hobby 35 years and owned 150 plus cars in that time.  Guys into the muscle cars, Tri Five Chevy's, Corvettes, Mustangs pay $5,000 to $20,000 for rusted junk sometimes. Here is a extremely rare artifact car with a $3K firm price and people are cringing?   I have posted 2-3 55 Kaisers on here for sale for nearly give away prices and I suspect they are still there.  Joe Frazer put me onto a 47 Manhattan with only 47,000 miles for $1700. That I think is still there?   I am not sure what is normal?

I'm just used to Buicks, Cadillacs and Pontiacs for way more then this price.  I have emailed the seller as well for the photos and price.

He has not responded to my email yet. Kind of frustrating. Wouldn't advertise in the Bulletin, answers emails sporadically. Might be a totally nice guy but seems a bit eccentric.  No phone numbers provided. Wants contact throiugh CL post method but that's no good per another member.

If he had a more grocery getter KF we wouldn't care much.
