Brake and Clutch Pedal Bumpers
« on: October 01, 2013, 11:49:47 PM »
With all the parts that came with my Henry J, I have two rubber bumpers marked in a bag as 212870.  My manuals tell be that these are pedal bumpers.  parts list show it as group numbers 8.170 and 15.112
Parts list show under group numbers that its stitched to lower plate.  Someone able to explain where the pedal bumpers are supposed to go?

Hi Dave,
Have you found the Partno search on Circlekf.com?

Too bad these part manuals are not illustrated.
Maybe photo the rubber bumper and I will see if I can find it on my 53

I think they go on the removable floor plate to stop the pedal arms from hitting the floor when all the way up. Henry.

I would say that it is a big staple, will try and look today, Henry.

I believe these are what you're talking about -

They dampen the noise/shock when you let your foot off the pedal. I can't see the staples in this picture  but I'd say you're correct about that.

I just went out and stuck my camera under my '53 and took these pictures.

You can't really tell what holds them on. Looks like there are small holes where some type of staple or stitch goes through. Sorry, I'm not going to  pull my nice fitting floor mat back to look from the inside - too hard  to get it and my firewall pad back down even again.

If you look at the left rubber in my pic you will see holes which are the staples. The one on the right looks like it was notched out for more pedal clearance. Henry
