1 1/2 inch tall cast iron Kaiser Frazer dogs
« on: May 07, 2014, 05:07:59 PM »
There is a new listing on eBay for a pair of cast iron dogs that have Kaiser Frazer stamped or cast in to the rear of the dogs listing #121336073037.  Does anyone have any idea what the dogs were used for?  They are 1  1/2 inch tall.  They have been bid to a lot of money!

That's interesting Gordie.  Probably a question for kaiserfrazerlibrary.   I'm interested in knowing what these are.
1953 Henry J Corsair Deluxe
Edgar Kaiser's custom 1951 Henry J
1951 Kaiser Special
1952 Allstate Deluxe

I have a similar cast iron pig also 1 1/2 inches tall leaning against two ingots with a plaque that says "first pig iron January 1 1943  KAISER STEEL.  This dog definitely says  Kaiser Frazer but not very clearly on the reverse.  Someone must know what they are as they have bid aggressively.  Thanks Fid, maybe we'll have an interesting story.  I'm curious now too!

I've seen another set of these. They were described as piglets and were cast to commemorate the opening of a KF iron works - maybe Ironton Utah...

Well, I guess a lot of people must know something about these dogs as 12 bidders ran them up over $330.00 plus postage.  They must be really special.  Does any one want to give us a clue? I'm not kicking myself yet for not getting the last bid.  Actually I had to talk myself into the opening bid of $9.99.

I really don't think they are dogs. I've never heard of dog iron, I have heard of pig iron. I do believe they are piglets, made to promote Kaiser's business venture at the time. Gary.

My pig iron trophy is definitely a pig with small pointed ears, curly tail, and hooves like a pig.  These don't look like a pig but could be dogs or even some other animal .  If they represent pig iron they should be pigs.  Maybe someone will remember what they represent.
