Kaiser Engine Logo
« on: September 02, 2014, 02:58:05 PM »
Anyone have a good image of the "Kaiser Frazer Power" logo from the engine tag? Not sure what years that came on but it is on the engine block tag of my '53 Manhattan. I'd like to have a good quality image of that logo to make a computer wallpaper. Did they ever print that logo in some of the literature?

Miles, Rudy has them, reproductions.

I sent one to "A.G. Backeast" (business in CO...don't ask me how this is backeast  ;)) to have the engine numbers "reverse stamped" onto it just like it left the factory (stamped from the back).  It was pricy ($50-60 I seem to recall) but it looks perfect.  I actually JB welded it onto my original one (when removed) so the original engine number tag sticks out from the right side (anal I know  :D) then had it attached with drive screws when I had my engine rebuilt.

I believe the '54 was different. Or maybe some were. I took this picture of a '54 in a salvage  yard years ago. Comments appreciated.

That's right Fid.  The 54/55 had the "226" on them like the head.  Rudy has them as well.  ;)

KFOCI HANDBOOK has a section on Engine ID plates and identifies when the buffalo emblem was added.  Unfortunately, all the illustrations are goldenrod & black rather than color.  Actual set-up is silver plate with a black screen print.

The  January 1947 issue of Automobile Topics magazine has a nice logo in it's ad showing a shield that says Power by Continental red seal engines with Kaiser and Frazer emblems on each side of it in red and black.  Also at  the bottom of the ad are three pictures of a Kaiser, Frazer and a Continental engine.  Either part of the ad would make nice wallpaper.  Jim Bets probably has images of the ad on his magazine ad listings.

I would love a T-shirt using the engine I.D. tag with the Kaiser buffalo standing on the world and script Kaiser-Frazer Power!
