You are correct as the premier showing of the new Kaiser and Frazer was at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the Jade room and Astor Gallery on January 20th through the 24th 1946. The first issue of the Kaiser Frazer News for March 1946 has a big article on it. 156,000 people went thru the doors to see the new cars despite a snow storm and sub freezing weather. Almost 10,000 orders were taken by the company salesmen. It would have been fun to have been there to see that front wheel drive Kaiser and the Frazer with the painted grill. At least many photos survive and I have the full page newspaper ad in the New York paper making the announcement.
