Outside Rear View Mirror
« on: April 28, 2010, 07:59:11 PM »
Is it possible to remove the mirror glass from an outside mirror to redo the silvering. It looks like it is crimped in and I do not see how it can be serviced. Does this mean the only alternative is to replace the whole head.

Thanks for the help.

In the past I have broken the glass out of the mirror head and then taken the head to a auto glass shop and they can make a new glass and glue it in the head and it looks very nice.  Also K-F club member Jay Fisher makes reproduction  outside rear view mirrors for most of the fifties cars.  800 732 388 6442
