Radial Tire Question
« on: October 05, 2008, 03:59:29 AM »
I am planning on new radial tires for my '51 Special and wondered if the 215R-70-15 will fit under the rear fender ok?  It looks a little too wide but maybe if the car was jacked up as high as it can go it might slide in there.  So, for those of you who have already convered to radials, what size did you use?

Well, I went ahead and put 205R-75-15 tires on it, and everything looks good.
There is a guy in San Diego that has a machine that widens the white side wall on a modern tire.  He can go up to 2+ inches, which looks really good on Kaisers.  A set of new tires, widened whitewall, mounted and balanced for $300.
