Will the bumpers from a 1951 Manhattan fit a 1953?

In 1951, the Manhattan was name was used in the Frazer line and their bumpers do not interchange with the 1953 cars. If you're asking whether 1951 and 1953 Kaiser bumpers interchange, the answer is yes and no. The front bumpers can be swapped, although the attaching parts do differ. The rear bumpers are different, however.

Lee,  the 1952-53 Kaiser Parts List Supplement lists totally different numbers for the front and rear bumpers used on 1953 Manhattans.  The change reflects different holes on the bumper for the bridges and other features.  While the 1951 KAISER SPECIAL OR DELUXE bumpers will mount on the car correctly, it won't look right in the front and as Jim points out, does not work at all in the rear because of the tail lights on the 1952-53 models.

Why do you want to switch out?   Also do you have the shop manual (1951), shop manual supplement for 1952-53 models, parts book from 1951 and the supplement for 1952-53.  You will need them if you are restoring/maintaining a 1953.

My front bumper is pealing and will need to be re chromed or replaced.

As far as the manuals, I do not have the parts manual and supplement.  If anyone knows where I can get them I would appreciate the information.

Thank you,

I might suggest you use the access by Group Number it is much faster.
Look throught the list of groups and go directly to the Page you want to read.  By the way the Group numbers are the same for the entire 10 year run with new ones added here and there.
