The Sun Goddess pic was taken at Tom Wilson's place in Michigan. He owned it at the time and did a light restoration before it went west to its present owner. The car is pictured in the Last Onslaught. It was constructed to test the possibility of building true hard top on the 51-5 chassis. Like most prototypes, it was cobbled together from factory and custom made parts. It has power front windows but no mechanisms at all for the rear, they're fixed. The rear glass is in two pieces and is plexi-glass. The windshield is a tinted and shaded unit, but was recut to fit the recontoured roof line.

Apparently not constructed to the strictest of standards, its latest owner told me of the trials and tribulations of trying to restore the car. Basically, nothing fits like it should.

That 1948 Kaiser was only twenty years old when the first club calendar was made.  There were still many fine original cars available then.  In the early years of the club it was not necessary to restore our cars and they were priced and valued at a very low price.  Yes things have changed over the years.

Terry, If I understand your question about the photo, this pic was in the 1968 Calendar so that is why he posted it under this thread.
