Electronic problem solvers 6V/12V and more
« on: October 26, 2015, 01:22:40 PM »
Some of you may have heard of the business below. I looked at their website and they have many neat products and publications for voltage conversions and similar challenges. Their website is: http://www.fifthaveinternetgarage.com/. I highly recommend that  you at least check out the items.

Has anyone in the club used the 6 volt electronic fuel pump from the Fifth Avenue Garage??    I would also assume the pressure regulator would be needed as well.    It sure would save cranking in my not so often used vehicles!   Are the costs of those parts reasonable??

I acquired one years ago and use it primarily for draining tanks w/o a drain plug. This particular pump will not pump through the mechanical pump, so be aware of that. I did not know that until I had already hooked it up.  The pump runs very quiet. Since I use 6V electric pumps just for priming and in case of vapor lock, I don't use a pressure regulator.

NAPA sells 6v electric fuel pumps. They will work with you existing mechanical pumps in place.
I use it for starting to bring the pressure up. No more vapor lock.
