Metalwork complete.
« on: January 10, 2015, 02:59:09 PM »
Picked up my Aero Lark from the metal shop yesterday. Temporarily protected with metal prep, next is to get it sealed up while I save for paint.

The painter did another test fit of the panels today and then took these. Gray panels are ready for paint, body is in epoxy and is ready for filler on spots that need it, then it gets gray primer too.

WOW!!! And the incredible thing to keep in mind is that the roof was grafted onto this body, right?

Wow!  Incredible work.  This is going to be the nicest Aero out there!  I doubt I will ever see another one this nice.  If I get mine to be only half this nice, I will be very happy.

The roof stamping was swapped with the front & rear window braces still attached, as well as the package tray & braces. Rain gutters, separate stampings,  were left on the roof rails of the receiving car. They were pretty much taken apart at the seams & reassembled. I did the disassembly & paid someone a lot more skilled than me to put it back together and do the rest of the metal work.

As far as being the nicest one when it's done, I think it'll be nice, but certainly not like an unmolested original.
