It says at the auction site that Darrin #1 was restored by Buddy Holiday, a Kaiser Darrin expert. Buddy had a body shop/restoration shop in North Hollywood for many years. He retired and moved with his wife, Anna, to Apple Valley, CA in the early 1980's and continued working on cars when he wanted to. Guy Gurley gave him a Henry J in exchange for a restoration of his Darrin that was SoCal weathered from years in his car port. Buddy also painted Old Toby for me when the car was side-swiped by a hit-n-runner just before I was leaving for the Ouray national. He did the body work and paint when I got back. He did it on my budget, so it was not spectacular work, but then, my car is a driver. I can think of at least 4 Darrins that Buddy restored, there were probably more. Buddy was a long-time KFOC member and died of cancer maybe 20 years ago.
