1949 Kaiser Engine Install

Getting ready to drop an engine into my Kaiser. It's been out of commission for about a year now. I'm anxious to hear it crank again.

If all goes as planned I'll pick the new motor on Thursday and start putting it back in over the weekend.

Getting ready to drop in the rebuilt drive train in to my 1949 Kaiser.  Stripped the block and painted it yesterday.  I've got to trim out the accessories, clean the engine compartment and then it will be ready to drop in.  Bought new mounts as well.  Anxious to get the car running again.

So I's still detailing out the motor before dropping it in.  I have a question on oil lines and gas/vacuum lines.  Are they supposed to be painted or left as bare steel?

On all the black components, fan, upper pulley, strap for oil filter and lid for oil filter, oil cap and coil strap I have walnut shelled blasted and will apply a DTM epoxy (a railcar paint that is somewhere between flat and gloss).

I'd like to get the old style radiator hose clamps.  Does anyone have a good source?

All oil, vacuum and fuel lines should be natural color. They were not painted engine green. The same holds true for the heater tube and adapter block that mounts to the water pump.

And the brass fittings on the side of the motor?  Are they left natural color?

Oil filter kits were installed by the dealer so the brass fittings would be natural color.
