Does anyone have any experience on port and polishing a 226 engine?

Since the 226 was used by WIllys in their FC and Wagon lines for many years i have seen some port and polish referenced in Jeep Forums addressing the WILLYS vehicles noted above.  Not much positive comments that the efforts paid off.  Ihave wondered if they ever tried to add in a transfer slot as you woudl find in later hudson six engines.  cleaning and polishing of the transfer slot helped those engines breath better at higher rpm and with other upgrades.
