Darrin Breakfast at Texas convention
« on: March 09, 2019, 10:49:41 AM »
Hi everyone
As your new director of the Darrin registry I am starting to put together the Texas Darrin breakfast I hope those of you who are coming to the convention will attend the Darrin breakfast.
If any of you have anything you would like to discuss or if any of you want to talk to the group please let me know. Let me know what you would like to talk about and how much time you will need.
You do not have to own a Darrin to attend so please come. I will try to make the meeting as enjoyable as I can.
My main job is to locate Darrins and track them. At fist glance you would think it would be easy do to the small number produced but with all of the identity theft in the world today it has become much more difficult. If any of you have information about a Darrin please contact me at my email address not on the forum as many owners do not want there information public and I respect that. I want to locate as many cars as possible but still keep the information private if the owner wants.
Hope to see you at the convention.
Thank you so much

Thanks Lee,  I'm sure that there will be some questions about what is correct for Darriin's in judging.  This is also a great place to ask those questions.  I was curious about what color the gas caps should be and Terry's research of seeing four original cars determined that they were body color.  Since they have the same part number as the Henry J that would make it correct at least for the entry level motels on the Henry J's as well.  Many factory photos corroborate that but  factory photos of the rear of the Darrin are almost non existent.

It is my understanding that they were body color and that the original cap had the cardboard seal not rubber.
