back-up lights for '54 KM
« on: August 25, 2022, 02:43:44 PM »
I have the back-up lights and would like to install them properly.  Anyone have measurements as to the correct location on the rear bumper?

Thanks, Jim.  I'm sure the wiring info will be helpful, but my '54 has a different rear bumper and I've seen the lights installed in a couple of different locations.  So I guess I have to decide where I like them best.

Retroguy, attached are the instructions and locating template for the 52 Kaisers (later bumper).

Step 4 on this installation sheet references wiring sheet instructions "included in Wiring Package Part No. 100222"  which I have also added.

...and just to further complicate things, the KF Parts Lists for the 52-53 cars list part number 100288 for the back-up lights while the 54 Parts List calls out 100336 as the part number for the 54 cars!  I have no idea what the difference is nor do I have a 100336 installation instructions sheet!

However, the attached 52 Kaiser instructions will provide the location template you are looking for.

Hope this helps with your installation in the correct factory recommended location.

Peace.

Yes, The backup Lights Correct in Picture Mike Showing. If Someone has The Instructions, then they would have Right Measurements.

After looking closer, I find that I have wiring package 100222 and lights 100100-1 for a '51 Kaiser.  So I'll use the '52 installation instructions and location 100288
provided by Mike.  I'll still use my 100100-1 lights as the only difference is probably the slight angle at which they sit on the bumper.  Thanks to everyone for your input.
