This looks like a nice car but it has a few modifications.  Someone has added chrome window moldings on the inside and added extra bumper guards in the back.  This car appears to have the early correct grill.  The different colored wheels are interesting as some cars around body number 4,000 used different colored wheels.  Congratulations and you will have a great car when finished.  The manufacturing fund just made the scarce rubber floormats available again and it looks like you can use one.  Best of luck with it!

The car is missing a hood prop; it appears that the mount at the hood on the driver side is there for it.

If you email me at the kaiserfrazerlibrary@yahoo.com address, I can send back the KFOCI HANDBOOK items on 1947 Frazers (the item on the GP version and the KF type) so you can get a list of the running changes made. 

Where in Wisconsin did you find the car and where is it going to now (geographay wise)?

I do have the Handbook disk and printed the pages on the '47 Graham Paige Frazer. I'm sure this car has had modifications over the years. With the help of club members maybe I can bring it back to original.
The car is currently in Stevens Point, Wi. I live in central Il.
I stumbled onto the car when one of my employees was looking at a website for streetrods and racing.
The owner inherited the car and was planning on chopping the top and updating the chassis and drivetrain.
When I inquired about the s/n I decided I needed to "save" it.
I have not told my wife I bought another K-F car. She did not say much when I bought number one and two, but wasn't happy when I added number three, and four and five. Number six could be a problem.
One of my buddies said it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission. We'll see how that works.
So the '47 may be for sale.

It is interesting that this 47 Frazer has four bumper guards on the rear bumper. My 47 Frazer has two bumper guards on the rear bumper.

According to the 11/1/46 dated Parts List, there should only be 2 guards front, 2 rear (total of 4) on the car; 4 guards were added to the front bumper later in production.

People of course add things to their cars as they wish; there are a lot of cars in the club that have one thing or another different from factory.

Later GP cars had the four bumper guards in front and many features of the later cars.  My GP is in about the middle of production and has the four guards in front and later grill.  It is body number 5215 and was probably made in October or November 1946.

There were only 4,474 Graham-Paige Frazers built and off the line in all of calendar 1946.  What is the SCHED and ITEM number on the body?  Knowing engines were in short supply during this time period, the body could have been built and in the body bank waiting for the components needed to finish the car.  Because of the back log of orders in house from earlier in the year (nearly 1,000,000 orders were on file by June 30, 1946) there was no priority for retail sale vs. dealer stock.

I have not seen the actual tag on the body to verify these numbers, but the s/n matches with a '47 Frazer listed in the registry. Those number are listed as SCH 17 and ITEM 417.

That car is nice eough to just clean up and to try to save as-is.  The upholstery could be cleaned up a bit and re stitched where it is seperating.  I don't know if the paint is original but it looks like it would polish out and be quite nice.  You found a very nice car!  It does not need to be restored as you can not duplicate that original look.

I agree that it may be solid enough for a clean up / touch up. Hopefully it is as solid as the pictures show. The color looks to be Linden Green like my '48 Custom. According to the body tag it should be Turf Green.

I will update more info when I take delivery.

As a side note, I will be listing some nice parts on eBay in the next few days. I have decided to sell some items to help with $$ on the '47.  (NOS windshield washer - fog lights - spotlight - and a variety of other items)

Wow, this is a really nice one custom, I can't add much on info, but I just wanted to comment on how nice it is. I also had to laugh when you said your wife didn't mind the 1st one, or 2, 3, but,,, 4, 5, then 6, hahaha. I can relate, My wife can't drive a stick, so my next one will have to be a automatic so I can tell her, " it's for you babe" hahhaa, Don't know if that will help you. I would be interested in hearing other "stories" guys use to tell their wife they bought another one. haha
