1955 Willys Custom/Bermuda/Aero
« on: August 22, 2012, 02:22:25 AM »
Hello fellow Willys fans,
I recently purchased a 55 Willys Custom and i wanted to know if the bumpers are made of stainless steel or are they chrome? Two ways to clean them and im afraid to damage them. Also, does anyone have a mechanics manual in pdf or doc format to download? Cheers, RODI

Willys used chrome plated steel bumpers on the 52-55 cars. In 1955, they were Kaiser passenger car units. Your car should have the 226 engine so the 1951 and up Kaiser shop manual would work for the drivetrain.

There is a blue/black cover Mechanics Manual for the 1955 Willys passenger cars.  It contains info on the 226 and the 685 (F-head 6) engines as it was intended for domestic and export product.

For various tidbits on Willys Aeros, go to the Willys Aero Survival Count website listed below. You can register your car there, learn production numbers and other interesting Aero stuff.
