A Darrin owner needs help
« on: June 14, 2013, 10:59:05 AM »
Hello from the Darrin forum group next door.

As many of you know, the Darrin was built with a number of Willys parts: most notably, the engine but there are many other smaller parts that were also sorced from Willys.  I'm looking for a parts house that might be able to provide me with the windshield washer system including the foot pump and fluid bag.  I understand that I should be looking for the Willys part 94531.  Can one of you recommend a supplier that would probably have this setup?

Thanks

Dutch

Best suggestion is to place a WANTED ad in the KFOCI MONTHLY BULLETIN or hit the swap meets in your area as well as Jeep-related meets.  These things haven't been produced in decades as far as I know.  KFOCI club members get free ads in the newsletter

Please note the main manufacture of Washer and Wiper Equipment during this time was Trico. I am sure that Kiasre and Willy both got thier equipment from this supplier. If you could get some pictures of the parts you are looking for you maybe able to find them in eBay under Trico washer or Wiper.

Just a suggestion.

How about a foot pump for filling inflatable toys and a whoopi cushion?

I think you will find they used the same systems as Fords of the era with the firewall mounted foot pump and washer bag although it would have said Kaiser instead of FOMOCO.  All parts for the Fords are available and if you got the right color bag, several colors were used over the years and models, a talented graphics person could replicate the logo.  But you will need pictures.  Good Luck.  Tom.

I have a foot pump washer in my '64 Ford Econoline and all that is in repro thru Mac's Autoparts (www.macsautoparts.com 800-777-0948) part number C1AZ-17664-R. From their catalog July 2004: "Windshield washer pump, includes pump, hose, tees, wire connectors and wiring, for washer bag applications, single speed, universal replacement." Price then was $16.95.
