Yes, you can register at the meet. The registration fee is $25 which includes use of the hospitality room (snacks, beverages, and display material to look thru) and a space for vending parts. The meet officially starts on Monday the 29th, however, most folks will arrive on Tuesday. Parts vending happens throughout the week.

When you arrive, look for the signs pointing you to the hospitality room where the hosts will have the registration area set up.

Glad to hear you'll be there!

Convention report...

Monday saw quite a few members and cars arrive. By my count, there were about 35 cars in the lot by 10pm. The weather is to cooperate so we look forward to a great week! Oh, and there are plenty of parts to pick thru, compliments of more than a dozen vendors.

Update:
Wednesday saw 67 cars on the show field with 15 judged. David Smith and his wife (Nashville residents and country music artists) entertained the 100-ish cookout attendees with lots of great music. Light rain fell for most of the day but that didn't dampen spirits!

Pictures will be posted soon!

The master for KFOCI HANDBOOK Version 5.0 was delivered to the Executive Board of the KFOCI prior to the Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday evening.  Because of location for the duplication house, Jim Lape will handle duplication and forward it on for distribution some where around the end of the year.

Off this morning to the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners MI. There we'll be part of a large car show and swap meet. I'm looking forward to touring the new Model A museum and the other buildings on site. Yesterday's canoe trip was canceled due to heavy rain and high winds. Of course, the bad weather soon cleared and we had a beautiful afternoon.

Thanks for the pictures Custom!  I saw a black '48 Kaiser Custom among them - don't recall ever seeing that one as the '48s are quite rare. I remember seeing a few '47s but not many '48s.

There were no less than three Customs at the meet so it was a treat to look them over. There were also four 51 Frazer convertibles, at least that many Darrins and the same for Henry Js.

At this year's board of directors meeting , we approved having V5 of the KFOCI handbook copied to DVD. I will be dropping the master off next week for duplication. So, the next version of the club handbook is just around the corner!

That beautiful '48 Kaiser Custom is actually a phantom. I believe you are talking about the one with the fender skirts and the red pleated interior. Vern Walmsley made the car as he liked it. It is not a proper restoration, although a beautiful and well-done modified. I voted for that car for Judge's Choice and would gladly have taken it home if only I could. It was one of my favorite cars at the meet.
