Darrin Hood Release

Has anyone ever removed the hood release from their Darrin. I have the female receiver unbolted from the engine bay area and the t-handle has been unbolted from under the dash and neither end is small enough to pass through the firewall. If I cut the cable, it will be no good. Has anyone ever done this before?

The cable needs to be disconnected from the receiver. Check the end of the cable, there's probably a small circular keeper that prevents the cable from pulling back thru the hole in the receiver's arm. You'll need to remove the keeper.
