Here is a photo of my Grandfather's Kaiser Frazer Dealership at 1510 Main Street in Wheeling West Virginia in 1948. You will probably need to zoom in to see the sign on the building. Credit to the source: https://live.staticflickr.com/454/18700917604_254cabe8c3_b.jpg

Good thing it is usually an infrequent need to do it.

Kaiser Forum / engine compartment degreasing/cleaning

I want to clean the complete engine bay on my '54 Manhattan, but I don't want to use the foam cleaners that require pressure wash.  Has anyone used the waterless cleaners that only require a leaf blower to blow off the residue, such as Sonax from the Chemical guys?  Did it work?  As I live in a condo, I'm also concerned with making as little a mess as possible.  Waterless cleaners would also save the job of wrapping the generator, distributor, voltage regulator, etc in plastic for protection.

So apparently I should assemble the air cleaner and cover on the carburetor and then insert the rod and wing nut through the hole in the cover and fish around for the threaded hole with the threaded end of the rod?  Still sounds like frustration.

The wing nut/rod was originally manufactured as one piece. If yours is two pieces, then the original was replaced. And yes, it can be a lesson in frustration to get back in place.

Parts For Sale & Wanted / wanted--vent window assemblies
« Last post by retroguy on January 20, 2025, 03:43:21 PM »
Wanted:  For my 1954 Kaiser Manhattan 4-door:  driver side vent window assembly (tinted glass preferred),  Passenger side rear vent window assembly.  I could probably buy the assemblies without glass and install new glass myself.  Also, anyone have the rear fender skirt retaining clips that weld to the body available?

When I take the wing nut off the air cleaner to remove the cover, the 6" or 8" rod comes out with it.  Trying to line up the bottom of the rod with the bottom of the air cleaner and line up the top of the rod with the center hole in the cover is a lesson in frustration. Is the bottom of the rod supposed to be fastened in some way to the bottom of the air cleaner?

Are you looking for an original or a reproduction?
I purchased a repro about 5 years ago, but I don't remember where.
I know that I used PayPal, but their records don't go back that far.
