1951 Deluxe Club Coupe
« on: September 10, 2016, 08:34:32 PM »
I went to look at this 51 Kaiser Deluxe Club Coupe here in NC today.  3 speed w/OD car.  The owner was picking it up at his brothers where its sat for the past 8 years to take it to his home in TN and to "do a restoration".   It does need a complete resto, but is complete.  Cape Verde Green.

The owner doesn't use a computer so I took him information about the club and some extra parts I had.   I got the numbers off of the data plate and body plate at the top of the firewall and sent them to Harold Hagen for the Registry; the car is not currently listed.

Oddly, there was not a serial number plate on the driver's door post.  Not even holes where rivets or screws might have been.

Have any of you ever run into that?   ???

No, I have not heard of that.

Is the new owner aware of how rare this car is?  It is indeed a rare car.

Fid, yes I told him it was rare.  Even printed out the Handbook pages and Registry list for him.  I was actually surprised there were 5500 or so produced and 50+ in the Registry.  Agree though they are very seldom seen.

Wow, looks pretty good in the pics! I would drive it just like that if it was mine.

Continental kits were not available from K-F in 1951 however aftermarket kits were.  A nice looking car but I wonder why no rear bumper guards?

That looks like a nice driver.   Haven't seen the interior so I hope it's not too bad

For some reason most '51 Kaiser dlx. coupes have Hydramatic.  They did not appear until about mid year so very few of them were made.  They have  always been my favorite K-F product and I had five of them while up grading before I found my low mileage original in 1984.

Do the quarter windows roll all the way down on a club coupe. Thanks John

I have never sat in the back seat in mine to roll down the windows but will check the next time I go to my storage garage.  Now I am curious also!
