I've expressed my opinions on these before but will state them again. If your 6 cylinder Henry J does not have an oil filter (and most didn't) then consider yourself fortunate. I'd recommend staying as far away from one as you can. They cause a lot more trouble than they're worth. They are nothing more than a bypass filter which means it's off to the side and not part of the oil circulation path and very inefficient. They introduce more points of where it can leak, make changing the oil a pain as the cartridge canister is a mess to clean and the cartridges expensive and hard to find. All you need to do is you keep the oil clean and change it every 1000 miles or less and you'll have no problems and won't need a filter that doesn't work well.
