The ear is broken off my exhaust manifold where the exhaust pipe connects and none of the welding shops I have been to say that it can be welded.  Anyone with a line on a replacement email me: scottasteel@gmail.com

Is it a 161 or a 226? What car does it sit in?

The subject line says 161.  I may have one, I'll check next time I'm out a my shed where I keep my spare parts.

But wasn't the Supersonic the 226? Or was the Supersonic name applied to both the Henry J engines (161-6 and 134-4) as well?

Henry J engines, both the 134 (four cylinder) and 161 (six cylinder), say "Kaiser Supersonic" on the head.

I believe the 161 - 6  and 134 - 4 are called Hurricane engines.

That was a Willys designation. I've seen 226 engines with "Super Hurricane" on the cylinder head.  See attached, I had to use that one on my '51 Kaiser till I could find a KF one. The KF ones say "Kaiser Supersonic" on them.  Click on the attachments and zoom in and you'll see that 226 says "Superhurricane" on the head. And another pic of that same head after it was painted, used and then replace when I found a "Kaiser Supersonic" head. That engine came from a Willys.

There certainly is a lot to learn about what they did back then.  Thanks for the clarification!!
