I am stumped on why my pics are not going thru.
You really need to see these.

I had to choose Notepad to open the text document describing the fire. Don't see any JPEG photo attachments.

I have Internet Explorer and Firefox (free download) on my outdated laptop. Usually use Explorer out of habit but some sites won't work for me unless I use Firefox.

Otherwise........... maybe your computer settings have "jumped" to one of the photo formats not supported by this site? (listed as "allowed types" when attaching.)

Regarding the fire, this is the reason only metal fuel lines should be used under the hood, except where rubber lines were originally factory fitted. I've seen many rubber hosed fuel filters hang way too close to exhaust manifolds - a recipe for disaster. The best place for a filter is back as close to the fuel tank as possible.

As for the picture issue, try uploading with a different browser. IE has a host of known issues, Firefox has always worked for me.

pic issue may be a change at Photobucket if you are using them to host.  The Bucket is no longer letting a third party website link to and open pictures hosted at teh Bucket- as i understand their business practice change.

The reason that I used an attachment for the verbage is that I had typed all that into a new thread 6 times, posted it, system says it was posted only to have it not get to the forum.

I sent the pics to Chris via an email, no problem.

Still stumped.

The text is a stumper.
You can right click pics, then "properties"to make sure your computer has them as JPEGS. If not then open them with "Paint" and resave them as JPEGS. I've gotten hung up with PNG pics a couple times (fixed with paint), otherwise that's a stumper too.

Lucky. Every now & then something like this comes up for different reasons and some don't end as well. I did a check on my extinguisher locations after reading this, something I hadn't given a thought to in years.

This is a good wake-up call and reminder for all of us to check the rubber gas lines on our cars.  The new gasoline that we have to buy can do lots of damage!

Sorry to hear of your fire and good to hear there was no loss of life or car, etc. I have 5 extinguishers in my shop. Never too far away from one. We were heading to a show and Bernice smelled gas so I pulled over and shut the car off. A clamp came loose at the back of the engine going the the EFI on my 57 Chevy wagon. Luckily I had some tools to tighten the clamp after I pushed it further onto the steel line. Changed it to a braided line with fittings.
