hub caps

My 1948 Kaiser Special has a couple plain baby moon hub caps. But I have seen some pictures where the word "KAISER" is printed on them. What did the cars come from the factory with originally in '48?
Thanks,
Carl

All 1948 Kaisers used plain hub caps. Caps with script were only used on the early 1947 cars. The caps are not interchangeable because the wheels themselves differ.

If you have an early car that has the script hubcaps you must be careful when you buy caps as they did use both style caps that were made for early and later wheels. i found out the hard way after buying some nos script caps and having them re-chromed and the lettering painted and then found that they only fit the later wheels. Jim is correct in that all K-F products made after approximately 1/1/47 had the plain caps which are getting very hard to find in good condition.
