air cleaner bracket
« on: May 04, 2020, 11:06:22 PM »
Hi,
I'm looking for the bracket that clamps the air cleaner to the carb.  This is for the '53 Kaiser .   Does anyone have this or know where I can get one?   Thanks,  Jim

The air cleaner clamp is spot welded to the base of the unit. It was very common for the clamp to break so many are missing. Attached is a picture of what it should look like. This is from my 53K.

Check eBay if no one here has one, they are fairly common as every make used something similar back then.

I have what appears to be a 53 style oil bath air cleaner.  It's highly unlikely it can be salvaged as a unit BUT the clamp and turn bolt are there and good.  Jim is right that it is spot welded on.  If you want it you have to take the whole unit...cost is postage to get it to you.  (I'll need an address and payment for postage can be a personal check)  Reach me at rrdcorvair@yahoo.com   Bob Dayton
