Difference between 48 Kaiser and 48 Fraser steering wheels
« on: August 31, 2020, 05:55:46 PM »
Besides the horn medallion, is there a difference? Reason I ask is mine is cracked in multiple places. Larry Smith advertises “nice 47 and 48 Fraser steering wheels” for $250

For the standard sedan, both the Kaiser and Frazer wheels are the same. Some Frazer wheels, however do include cancel pins for turn signals. The wheels can be used on a Kaiser without turn signals.

The Frazer Manhattan and Kaiser Custom use different wheels.

On the subject of different wheels, there are two different kinds of wheels for the Kaiser Special and the Frazer standard models.  Early production (and it appears some initial dealer or distributor parts stocks) wheels were designed for only a horn button rather than the button and horn blowing ring.  This is according to Parts & Accessories Bulletin (dealer version) #21 dated 4/14/47.
