Jim, are the 51-55 front floor mats going to be available in the correct original KF colors or just black?

Right now, the mats will be in black. Colors really drive up the rpice since the quantity is much smaller.

Also, if anyone's coming to this weekend's Midwest meet, I will have a selection of club manufacturing parts for sale. Some for the Darrin, some for the HJ and some for the big Kaisers. In addition, if you're coming and are looking for a particular item, fund or not, let me know as I will be bringing some of my own stuff to sell too. If I have what you need, I'll drag it along!

To Jake and others, the reality is that getting money up front is impractical, especially on a new part or a large part such as the floor mats.  In order to make parts, you need molds, tooling and/or finishing jigs, etc depending on the actual part produced.  Molds can run as high as $50,000 or more for floor mats and other large items, and about same for any fine detail shaped items because of the complexity of the part.  Having been in that kind of business for over 6 years I know about it first hand.  That's why the Manufacturing Fund carries the reserve balances it does. 

The stuff is typically good for thousands of parts (or tens of thousands of parts).  You either do it right and the tooling will outlive all of us, or you try to do it cheap (like going to some places in China for the stuff) only to find it's not correct & the supplier doesn't care to fix what they did wrong and you're out the money.  Again, I was there so I know first hand.

For my 50 Traveler, I used the sedan gasket and cut it to length. I then used gasket cement to fuse the halves back together.  Done.

You would be better served by contacting the Manufacturing Fund directly on wants.  Adam keeps a "want list" as a guide to new items that can be made at reasonable prices.

Not that I have one, but if I'm not wrong, there is nothing currently available for the '54 backlight rubber gasket.  It seems like that would be something worthwhile.  I don't know where Rudy Phillips gets his material, but I have bought door weatherstrip for my '53 Dragon from him, and it worked very well.

Seems like a lot more club members are getting interested in Aeros. Needed are:
1. dash knobs for the 1954-55's.
2. vent window rubbers: one for 2-door hardtops and one for 2- & 4-door sedans.
3. roof rail weatherstrips for 2-door hardtops
4. weatherstrip on leading edge of roll-up quarterwindow where it meets the back edge of the door window.
5. horn ring
6. trunnion bolts - lower: both sizes and upper
7. front rubber floor mats
8. tail lenses: 1952-53 and 1954-55

As far as I know, the only items reproduced for the Aeros so far are:
1. windshield and wraparound rear window weatherstrips (John Parker, now Duane Hayes)
2. spark plug wires (Carl Hering)
3. 1955 taillamp housing to body gaskets (Lew Retzer)
4. 1955 back-up lenses (Lew Retzer)
5. 1954 lower taillamp lens (someone in Australia - they are amber, not red, for a turn signal conversion)
6. some stuff in Brazil for the Brazilian 1960-62's might work on our cars

Rick , I see you mentioned amber tail light lens I Brazil . Are all tail lights in Brazil amber ? If they are , it would answer a question I have had for many years . I bought a 54 Kaiser parts car back in the late 80's that had an amber lens in a plain or badly faded box that was amber . Sure would like to know why it is amber .
