1951 frazer manhatten convertible

 Looked at a'51 Frazer Convertible today. Old resto. runs no brakes interior in vinyl, front passenger door doesn't close correctly and drivers door is worse and doesn't close tight and misaligned. Hydraulic windows and top don't respond. Are parts tuff to locate?   Thanks for any info      Tom

Anything that looks like it might be unique to the convertible can be difficult to find. Only 131 Frazer convertibles were built for 1951, although non-sheet metal parts from the 1949-50 cars will fit as well - however - even fewer of those were produced. The top and windows work off what amounts to a starter motor mounted on the firewall that drives a pump that operates everything. The pump can be rebuilt as can the individual cylinders but the switches and relays that operate everything are very difficult to find.

Thanks for the response, Joe. It sounds like it's difficult but doable. The thing that scares me most is the doors. The body seems solid body mounts are good, frame is good, but doors seem to be sagging {I think} and you can't really see the whole hinge.

If the hinges are worn, they're available and can be replaced. The upper hinges are known to wear and the easiest way to check is to lift the open door by the outside handle while watching the hinge. If there's any play, they're worn enough to require replacement.
